These are the terms and conditions for The University of Law x RateMyPlacement ‘Breaking into Law’  prize promotion. For any questions please contact RMP Enterprise AT 0203 056 7700 or email enquiries@rmpenterprise.co.uk (please use “Breaking into Law]” in any correspondence).

  1. The Promoters

    1. The promoters are RMP Enterprise Ltd of Unit 3.06 & 3.07 Piano House Brighton Terrace, London, United Kingdom, SW9 8DJ, and The University of Law, 2 Bunhill Row, London EC1Y 8HQ19, United Kingdom.

  2. The competition

    1. Students will enter the competition by attending and participating in a Kahoot quiz element of the ‘Breaking Into Law’ session run between Tuesday, November 5th and Tuesday, November 12th, 2024.

  3. How to enter

    1. The competition will run from 12:00pm BST on Tuesday, 5th November 2024 (the "Opening Date") to 12:00pm BST on Tuesday, 12th November (the "Closing Date") inclusive. 

    2. The eligible Kahoot quizzes will be hosted at 6:20 pm on the following dates; Tuesday, 5th of November, Thursday 7th of November and Tuesday 12th of November 2024.

    3. Only live participants will be eligible for the prize.

    4. No purchase is necessary and there is no charge to register for use of the website.

    5. The Promoters will not accept:

      1. responsibility for competition entries that are lost, mislaid, damaged or delayed in transit, regardless of cause, including, for example, as a result of any postal failure, equipment failure, technical malfunction, systems, satellite, network, server, computer hardware or software failure of any kind; or 

      2. proof of posting or transmission as proof of receipt of entry to the competition.

    6. By submitting a competition entry, you are agreeing to be bound by these terms and conditions.

    7. A winner will be chosen after each session and will be announced live at the event. The winner must claim their prize. The decision of the panel of judges will be final.

    8. The Promoters will send the full names of the judges to anyone who writes within one month after the Closing Date of the competition requesting details of the judges and who encloses a self-addressed envelope to RMP Enterprise at the address set out above.

  4. Eligibility

    1. The competition is only open to all residents in the UK (excluding Northern Ireland) aged 18 years or older at the date of entry who are in current full-time study during the 2024/2025 academic year at a UK higher education institution recognised by the government as a degree-awarding body and listed here. Proof will be required for checking and validation in the form of student ID and will be required to claim the prize. 

    2. The following are not eligible to enter:

      1. any person who does not meet the eligibility criteria above;

      2. employees of the Promoters or its holding or subsidiary companies;

      3. employees of agents or suppliers of the Promoters or their holding or subsidiary or sister companies, who are professionally connected with the competition or its administration; or

      4. members of the immediate families or households of (b) and (c) above.

    3. In entering the competition, you confirm that you are eligible to do so and eligible to claim any prize you may win. The Promoters may require you to provide proof that you are eligible to enter the competition.

    4. The Promoters will not accept competition entries that are:

      1. automatically generated by computer;

      2. completed by third parties or in bulk; or

      3. incomplete.

    5. There is a limit of one entry per person. Entries on behalf of another person will not be accepted and joint submissions are not allowed.

    6. The Promoters reserve all rights to disqualify you if your conduct is contrary to the spirit or intention of the prize competition.

    7. Competition entries cannot be returned. If you would like to save your entry, please print a copy before submitting it.

  5. The prize

    1. The prizes are outlined below:

      1. 1 x £100 Amazon Voucher for session 1 (Tuesday 5th November) 

      2. 1 x £100 Amazon Voucher for session 2 (Thursday 7th November) 

      3. 6 x £50 Amazon Voucher for session 3 (Tuesday 12th November) 

      4. 1 x iPad 10.9 inch Wifi + Cellular 64gb and mentoring session for session 3 (Tuesday 12th November)

    2. The winner must clain their prize, as instructed on air, by contacting jarod@rmpenterprise.co.uk with a screen shot showing their user ID on the kahoot quiz within 24 hours of the quiz to be eligible for the prize. 

    3. Where the prize necessitates attending an event on a specific date, the winner must be available on the date(s) specified by the Promoters in the competition information and no alternative dates will be available.

    4. Prizes are subject to availability. The Promoters reserve the right to substitute the prize with a prize of equal or greater value.

    5. The prize is not negotiable or transferable.

  6. Winners

    1. The decision of the Promoters or the judges nominated by the Promoters is final and no correspondence or discussion will be entered into.

    2. The winner must claim their prize, as instructed on air, by contacting jarod@rmpenterprise.co.uk with a screenshot showing their user ID on the kahoot quiz within 24 hours of the quiz to be eligible for the prize. 

    3. Prizes will be sent by email within 14 working days from the date the Promoters receive the winners’ prize acceptance confirmation. 

    4. The prize may not be claimed by a third party on your behalf.

    5. The Promoters do not accept any responsibility if you are not able to take up the prize.

  7. Limitation of liability

    1. Insofar as is permitted by law,  the Promoters, their agents or distributors will not in any circumstances be responsible or liable to compensate the winner or accept any liability for any loss, damage, personal injury or death occurring as a result of taking up the prize except where it is caused by the negligence of the Promoters, its agents or distributors or that of their employees. Your statutory rights are not affected.

  8. Data protection and publicity

    1. The Promoters will only process your personal information as set out in the privacy policy.

  9. General

    1. If there is any reason to believe that there has been a breach of these terms and conditions, the Promoters may, at their sole discretion, reserve the right to exclude you from participating in the competition.

    2. The Promoters reserve the right to hold void, suspend, cancel, or amend the prize competition where it becomes necessary to do so.

    3. These terms and conditions shall be governed by English law, and the parties submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
